Nothing much! I’m building my small consultancy slowly. Talked and served 10+ clients, working closely to fit their needs and make everyone happy.
Submitted 1 Kubecon + Cloud NativeCon Paris 2024 and 1 panel; it was fun. Submitted 10 co-located talks and planning to submit 5 more by Dec 3rd, 2023. Planning to attend Kubecon Paris in full action.
Organized Open Source Cloud native meetup with amazing speakers like Arsh Sharma from Okteto, and Yash Pimple, who recently presented a talk at Kubecon for Keptn. I had a little surprise for my audience as Kunal Kushwaha came to meet me at the event. He’s the favorite star of students ⭐️

This month, we have a range of exciting updates and insights from the DevOps and cloud-native world. Let's dive in!
Latest Trends in DevOps and Cloud-Native:
American Express and Open Source Innovation: American Express has recently made strides in open-source innovation by establishing an Open Source Program Office. This move exemplifies how large corporations embrace open-source philosophies to drive technological advances.
Adopting CNAPP for Enhanced Security: Integrating Cloud-Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPP) with DevOps practices is gaining traction. This synergy aims to improve software development life cycles and enhance security measures in the cloud environment.
Emerging Technologies and Tools:
Solo.io Brings Istio and Cilium Together in Single Offering: Tom Callway, vice president of marketing for Solo.io, said Gloo Mesh Core is central to a larger effort to streamline the company’s product portfolio around three offerings that include an enterprise edition of Istio and an application programming interface (API) gateway. He added that the goal is to reduce the friction organizations encounter when enabling connectivity across cloud-native applications.
VMware's Tanzu Platform and Generative AI: VMware has updated its Tanzu platform, integrating a Large Language Model (LLM) to provide generative AI capabilities. This advancement will revolutionize application development in the cloud-native ecosystem.
Veracode's New Cloud-Native Security Solutions: Veracode has launched DAST Essentials and the Veracode GitHub App. These tools are designed to seamlessly integrate security into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), promoting the adoption of Application Security (AppSec) tools among developers.
Microsoft's .NET Aspire for Cloud-Native Development: Microsoft's release of .NET 8 includes the introduction of .NET Aspire, a new cloud-native development stack. This is a significant milestone in Microsoft's journey towards more streamlined and efficient cloud-native app development.
KubeCon and CNCF Highlights:
Fluent Bit Releases v2.2 and Hits Milestone Downloads: At ObservabilityDay during KubeCon, Fluent Bit announced the release of version 2.2, featuring YAML configuration and enhanced metrics collection capabilities. Fluent Bit has reached nearly 11 billion downloads, significantly increasing in the last 18 months. Look forward to version 3.0, planned for the next KubeCon in Paris on March 20.
OpenTelemetry Achievements: OpenTelemetry Logging has reached General Availability, making all three observability telemetry pillars—logging, metrics, and traces—production-ready. This marks a significant step in providing a unified framework for cloud-native telemetry. The OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) has reached its 1.0 version, solidifying its place as a stable foundation for open-source observability.
Expansion of Cloud-Native Tools: Crossplane announced its v1.14 release, the largest to date, focusing on improving developer experience. Kyverno, originally a policy engine for Kubernetes, now supports non-Kubernetes workloads as well. Vitess 18, providing sharding middleware for MySQL, is also generally available.
Sustainability and Observability at KubeCon: The conference featured cloud-native observability and sustainability discussions. Innovations like eBPF-based utilities, such as Kepler, are enabling more efficient resource utilization tracking. Talks highlighted the environmental impact of Kubernetes and presented tools like an emissions-aware scheduler to optimize energy usage and carbon footprint.
